Objective

Configure the global parameters that govern the bank operation: limits per cryotop, qualities, sample types, tank and ladder restrictions.

Before starting

• Have PARAMETERS: WRITE (Parameters module permission).
• Define the values to apply (maximums, minimums, allowed qualities).

Step by step

1. Enter the Gamete bank module and open the Configuration view.
2. Click the gear icon in the header to open the Bank parameters drawer.
3. The drawer is organized in accordions:
   • Cryotop limits: maximum and minimum of oocytes and embryos per cryotop.
   • Qualities: list of allowed qualities for oocytes and embryos.
   • Tank restrictions: maximum and minimum of baskets and ladders.
   • Ladder restrictions: maximum and minimum of vials per ladder.
4. Edit the necessary values:
   • For numeric limits, adjust the field.
   • For qualities, add, edit or delete entries (label and value).
5. Click Save.

Expected result

• The parameters are registered and applied in subsequent registration, tank configuration and plans operations.
• The drawer shows the date and time of the last successful update.
• The system shows a success message.

Common errors

Situation	What to do
The gear icon does not appear	The user does not have PARAMETERS: WRITE.
The change does not apply to existing samples	Parameters apply to future operations; already registered samples do not change.
The new quality does not appear when registering	Refresh the page or retry.

Suggested permissions

• PARAMETERS: WRITE.

Operational recommendations

• Change parameters carefully. If a maximum is reduced, future operations may fail; if it is increased, verify that the physical capacity supports it.

Relation with other modules

• Tank configuration: the bank limits are applied to the creation of tanks and ladders.
• Sample registration: qualities and limits per cryotop are applied when registering.
• Plans: parameters can define the maximum capacities of the plans.
