Medical studies
The Medical Studies module allows capturing, interpreting and sharing clinical results of different study types. The user-visible path is /manage-capture/capture and is offered under the "Study capture" title in the menu.
Supported study types
The system supports the following study types (AndroStudyApiKeys key):
- Seminogram (SEMINOGRAM)
- DNA fragmentation (DNAFRAGMENTATION)
- Insemination (INSEMINATION)
- Freezing (FREEZING)
- Unfreezing (UNFREEZING)
- Papanicolaou (PAPANICOLAOU)
- Colposcopy (COLPOSCOPY)
Each type has its own capture dialog with specific fields (macroscopic, microscopic, morphological, other cells, etc.).
Study statuses
Studies follow a workflow with four statuses:
- Capture: study data is being recorded.
- Interpretation: the data was captured and awaits doctor's interpretation.
- Results: the study has interpretation recorded.
- Finished: the study was delivered and concluded.
How the screen is organized
The screen has four tabs with lazy load:
- Capture (0): studies in capture state.
- Interpretation (1): studies pending interpretation.
- Results (2): studies with interpretation recorded.
- Patients (3): list of patients with their studies.
The Patients tab is an auxiliary list to quickly find a specific patient's studies.
Available actions by status
- Capture: edit, print, next, survey, send survey link, delete.
- Interpretation: previous, next, interpretation, print, prescription, delete.
- Results: previous, finish, print, email, delete.
- Finished: previous, print, email, survey, prescription.
Roles and permissions
MEDICAL_CAPTUREor the equivalent module permission to capture, interpret and send studies.- To delete studies, normally

Relation with other modules
- Patients: the study is associated with a patient and their sexual partner when applicable.
- Cash box: certain studies can generate automatic charges.
- Prescriptions: from the interpretation or when finishing, a prescription can be generated.
- Gamete bank: freezing, unfreezing and insemination studies interact with the bank.
- Services: studies are associated with one or more services.
Operational recommendations
- Capture the complete data before moving the study to interpretation.
- Use the andrological survey when applicable; it helps complement the study.
- Before finishing, confirm that the interpretation is signed and the result is readable.
- Send the result through the configured channel and keep evidence of the send.
