Objective

Associate or change the branch to which an existing location belongs.

Before starting

• Locate the location in the list.
• Have LOCATIONS: WRITE.

Step by step

1. Enter the Branches and locations module and open the Locations sub-route.
2. Locate the location.
3. In the row, click the Edit icon (pencil).
4. In the dialog, change the associated Branch.
5. Confirm with Save.

Expected result

• The location is associated with the new branch.
• The system shows a success message.
• In flows that filter by branch, the location now appears under the new branch.

Common errors

Situation	What to do
The new branch does not appear in the selector	Verify that the branch is active.
The change affects operations in progress	Coordinate with the teams that use the location (schedule, patients).

Suggested permissions

• LOCATIONS: WRITE.

Operational recommendations

• Document the change so the operations team is not surprised when searching for the location.
• If the location changed branch due to a physical relocation, validate with customer service.

Relation with other modules

• Patients: the patient's address is associated with the new branch (when updated).
• Schedule and operations: filters by branch change.
